An excellent write up with all the details of Palace on Wheels, the first luxury train to be introduced in India. Did you know that Palace on Wheels was originally composed of the original personal saloons of the erstwhile Maharajas, Nizams and Viceroys of India.
These original cars were later replaced with the replica carriage to incorporate the technological advances and the train run shifted to broad gauge rail lines from the narrow gauge.
