The pioneer of luxury trains in India, Palace on Wheels has been nominated for the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA) International Award under the category ‘Tourist Train of the Year’. The prestigious PATWA International Awards 2018 award ceremony will be held during the world’s largest tourism trade fair, ITB BERLIN on March 9th, 2018.

Pradeep Kumar Borar, special secretary & director of tourism, Rajasthan government said in a statement, “The international council of PATWA has nominated the Palace on Wheels for an award as the ‘Tourist Train of the Year’. Among the luxury trains in India, POW is known for its hospitality which is its USP. It has also recorded the highest occupancy.”

Palace on Wheels is not just one of the finest luxury trains in India it is also the first in the country. The royal train made its inaugural journey on 26th January in the year 1982 and has been recently revamped in 2017. The train runs on the Golden Triangle Circuit of India (Delhi, Agra & Jaipur) and through the mesmerizing landscape of Rajasthan.
