The International Kite Festival of Gujarat is scheduled to be held from January 10 to January 14 at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmadabad. The grand festival will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Narendra Modi and witness the participation of a large number of domestic and international kite lovers.

The International Kite Festival is an integral part of Gujarat tours and is aimed at giving a boost to tourism in Gujarat. Besides participation in domestic and international kite flyers, the festival will have various other highlights as well. Commenting on the International Kite Festival, tourism minister Jay Narayan Vyas said “This year Kite festival will see witness participation of 120 kite flyers from 8 states and 74 foreign kite flyers.”

To cater to the rising popularity of this international festival, special arrangements have been made. “Hundreds of children of AMC’s Seva Basti will kick off the festival with the performance of Surya Namaskar and Surya Vandana. Theme pavilion depicting the history of kites, food court, craft bazaar, and adventure sports are some of the special attractions planned for this year” added the tourism minister.
