Palace on Wheels, India’s first luxury train, chugged its way to Jaisalmer amid great fanfare and celebrations. Tourists exchanged wishes while Santa Claus distributed gifts to the tourists on the train to mark this splendid occasion. The train received a total of 73 tourists, among the majority of which were British, Americans, and NRI’s.

The evening was welcomed by the cutting of the cake followed by various kinds of cultural programs. Thrilling fireworks also entertained the guests thoroughly on this occasion. Besides these, tents were erected at the beautiful Sam Dunes and the tourists had a great time partying in them. On this occasion, Pradeep Bohra, general manager of Palace On Wheels, stated that special arrangements organized for the tourists in the train recreated the homely environment for them.

The train was decorated in the best possible way and sumptuous food items were served to the guests. He further added that the train, upon reaching Jaisalmer on Sunday morning, saw the tourists being greeted with traditional folk songs. It was a wonderful experience for all of them. Gifts by Santa Claus were also distributed, with some of the special items being plum pudding and turkey.

He went on to say that a special dinner and dance was arranged for the tourists at a hotel on Sunday evening. Incredible fireworks also entertained the tourists thoroughly.

The guests also showed off their dancing skills to Bollywood and Rajasthani songs in the hotel. The special twists and turns that are so characteristic of the Kalbeliya dance also left the guests wonderstruck. The train was also beautified with a lovely Christmas tree.
