Maharaja’s Express was awarded the title of “World’s Leading Luxury Train” for a third consecutive year at the World Travel Award Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2014 which was held in Anguilla on 07 December  2014. The train has reserved this title since 2012. The category had other nominees, such as Andean Explorer, Deccan Odyssey, Eastern & Oriental Express, The Blue Train, Hiram Bingham, Royal Canadian Pacific, Rocky Mountaineer – GoldLeaf Service, The Golden Chariot, The Queen of Scots Luxury Touring Train, Tren Crucero and Venice Simplon Orient-Express.

World Travel Award acknowledges and appreciates some of the best organizations engaged in tourism, travel, and hospitality. World Travel Awards was established in 1993, and since then it has been considered a great privilege by the companies to be awarded by WTA. It has indeed evolved as a hallmark to measure brilliance and has been regarded as the ‘Oscars of the Travel Industry’ by The Wall Street Journal.

Maharaja’s Express is one of the most expensive luxury trains in the world and provides par-brilliance comforts. Its thematic coaches are inspired by erstwhile kingdoms and lifestyles of Indian kings (Maharaja). It covers five journeys, all of which are designed to flaunt the best tourist attractions of India. Some of the destinations it covers are Mumbai, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Agra, Delhi, Khajuraho, Orchha, and Bikaner.
