Indian luxury train, The Maharaja’s Express, is making quite an impression in the US as owner and operator IRCTC is hosting multiple events promoting the Maharaja Express in Las Vegas, Los Angeles (November 26) and San Francisco (November 30). The train has been bestowed with several honors such as the 1st Runner Up in the Reader’s Choice Award for Conde Nast Traveler in 2011 and the “Best Luxury Train” by CNBC Travel in 2010.

IRCTC hopes that the events will help garner a lot of interest in the luxury train travel niche. Rakesh Kumar, Managing Director, IRCTC commented, “The train is designed to transport guests into a more gracious age of train traveling. Interiors suffused with nostalgia, state−of−the−art amenities, a tastefully crafted itinerary, and impeccable hospitality enable Maharajas’ Express to present India in a way never seen before.”

The train is a virtual 5-star hotel on wheels with facilities such as cabin−controlled air conditioning, online water filtration systems, environmentally−friendly toilets, pneumatic suspension, live television, Wi−Fi Internet, CCTV cameras, hair dryers, electronic safe deposit boxes, and bathtubs. The train has 14 guest carriages, accommodating a total of 88 passengers. Visit the train website for more details.
