Maharajas Express added another feather in its cap as it bagged the first runner up award in the Specialist Train Operators Category awarded by the Conde Nast Traveller Readers' Travel Award. The first prize was grabbed by the Hiram Bingham Express, a luxury train by Orient Express Group. Palace on Wheels, another luxury train in India, was voted 7th by the travelers. The award ceremony was held in London last Wednesday.
Maharajas Express is a pan-Indian luxury train offering 4 journeys across major tourist destinations in India. This luxury train in India started operating in March 2010 and is being operated by Royale India Rail Tour Limited, a joint venture between Cox and Kings, India and the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
