The Indian Maharaja - Best Asian Luxury Train Award 2012 Winner

Indian luxury train, the Indian Maharaja, has bagged the award for the Best Asian Luxury Train for the third year in a row. The train was felicitated at World Travel Awards 2012, quoted by Wall Street Journal as “the travel industry’s equivalent to the Oscars”. The awards are first held on continental scales after which the winners are pitted against each other in a gala event which, incidentally, is to be held in New Delhi this year and is expected to be attended by a packed delegation of VIPs, senior tourism figures and international media from more than 100 nations. A release issued by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) said, “ "It had always been a close contest as the other contenders in the race were equally powerful. The nominees for the award included, Eastern & Oriental Express, Palace on Wheels, The Golden Chariot Train and The Viceroy of India".

The Indian Maharaja is a true benchmark in the luxury travel niche and has already been a recipient of the coveted World Travel Award in 2010 and 2011. The train offers 2 journeys – from Mumbai to Delhi and vice versa – over the course of 7 nights and 8 days. The train features contemporary luxuries like Library, Ayurvedic Massage Center, Gymnasium, Bar, Steam Bath, Business Center, Beauty Parlor, Telephone in each saloon, Fully loaded mini pantry in each coach, Television in each coach, Plasma TV in Lounge Car, Music Systems besides Special Suite for Physically challenged.

I am a very down to earth person. I don't coellct "stuff" and I don't like things that don't have a practical purpose. My daughter is nearly 2 and she has plenty of things she treasures. She sleeps with a plush monkey I got at Children's Place for $5 and a Dora doll. She has a favorite blanket that she can't sleep without but I bought it at Walmart for $8 on clearance. It is soft, it is fleece. I love it, she loves it, but its practical.I would not pay $47 for a baby blanket. For $42 I expect some kind of nice heavy blanket for my queen size bed. So many kids do not bond to the item you choose for them. We picked a small plush bunny attached to a tiny blanket square as our daughter's special thing. She wants nothing to do with it. At least I didn't spend $47 on it, so its not a huge loss. Now, if I had more money then I knew what to do with, sure, I'd buy an excessively expensive blanket for the label, if that was the kind of person I was . but I'm not.References :
