We believe that traveling is an art! India, one of the great travel destinations in the world, welcomes you to come and explore this art realm in its entirety. We have compiled a list of travel tips that you can refer to when planning for India travel. For better results, remember to keep them handy during your travel!

  1. Being the seventh largest country in the world, India attracts millions of tourists every year.
  2. Guests visiting India are required to acquire valid visas prior to their arrival in the country. Visas can be obtained from the Indian Embassy located in their city/country.
  3. It is advisable that guests opt for travel insurance to cover them fully against all eventualities, prior to their travel.
  4. English is widely spoken across the country. Hindi is the official language of India.
  5. Loose cotton wear highly complements the tropical climate of India. However, it is better to check the prevailing weather conditions of the city you plan to visit and then pack your bags accordingly. While severe winters are characteristics of the north, the summers in this part can be hot and humid as well. Therefore, a lot depends on the time of travel.
  6. Online hotel reservation facilities are available for most hotels across the country. Therefore, opt for prior hotel bookings in order to avoid inconvenience later.
  7. Photography is totally prohibited in a number of tourist sites and almost all museums and in a few places it is allowed with a fee. Therefore check out with the respective authorities before-hand.
  8. Across all religious destinations - Temples, Gurudwaras, Churches, remember to always keep your head, shoulder and knees covered. Shoes are not to be entered into the premises especially in temples, mosques and gurudwaras. There are separate places designated for keeping your shoes, so ask for directions and avail of those spaces.
