Day 1: Mumbai - Mysore
Take the early morning flight to Bangalore from Mumbai and on landing here, straight away drive down to Mysore, your first destination in the South India Vacation tour. Check into the hotel and retire early.

Day 2 - 3: Mysore

Explore through the heart of Mysore on the 2nd and the 3rd day of the tour. Explore the main attractions in the city including the Mysore Palace, the Lalitha Mahal, Vrindavan Gardens, and also the Chamundi temple.

While here you can also take a short excursion trip to the nearby areas of Mysore including Srirangapatna and Somnathpur.

Day 4: Mysore - Nagarhole National Park
Travel down to the wild environs of Nagarhole to catch the wild animals live in action. Alternatively you could also travel down to the Cauvery Fishing camp that is most popular among anglers for housing an excellent collection of Mahseer. Depending upon your preference and the season in which you are traveling, you could choose from any of the 2 options mentioned here.

Day 5: Nagarhole
For those who missed it on the previous day, you can explore the Nagarhole wildlife sanctuary on the 5th day. If you have visited it the previous day, you still have one more chance to catch some rare glimpses of the wild animals before you move out of this natural world.

Day 6: Nagarhole - Coonoor
Post-breakfast drive down to Ooty, the next destination in your South India vacations. A quaint and sleepy town, Coonoor is best visited for its natural beauty and serene atmosphere that refreshes the weary traveler, the moment he sets foot in.

Day 7: Coonoor
Coonoor and Ooty are sister towns located at a distance of 13 km from each other. They jointly offer to their guests a great experience through their natural beauty, sparkling brooks, and vast estates of tea and coffee plantations.

Day 8: Coonoor - Cochin
In the morning of the 8th day of the tour, travel down from Coonoor to Cochin to enjoy a leisurely vacation amidst fine beaches and luxury resorts. The cultural heritage of the place is also an element worth being feasted on!

Day 9: Cochin
Explore the major tourist attraction sites of Cochin on the 9th day of the tour. Visit the Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, and the local spice market that is one of its kinds in India selling a million varieties of Indian spices.

Day 10: Cochin - Periyar

Post-breakfast embark on your tours to Periyar. You will first have to drive through Alleppey and then to Chagancherry by crossing the Vembanad lake onboard a cruise. You will arrive in Periyar by afternoon. Therefore you will only have late afternoon to explore the green environs of the place.

Day 11: Periyar
Embark on a guided tour through the forests of Periyar and catch the wild animals in their origins or take a boat ride exploring the heritage of the place, the choice is ultimately yours...

Day 12: Periyar - Madurai
From the wildlife surroundings of Kerala to the heritage sites of Tamil Nadu. Yes that is where the trail will now head towards. From Periyar you can either opt for a train or a car journey till Chennai and from there to Madurai, the next destination in this itinerary.

Day 13 - 14: Madurai - Karaikadi
Visit the temples of Madurai and by afternoon leave for Karaikadi that is home to the Chettiar families. These families are affluent and display a distinct cultural heritage of their own.

Overnight stay in Karaikadi.
On the fourteenth day of the tour you can visit the palatial mansions of the Chettiars located in the Chettinad area. Known for their grand size and delicate designing, several local festivals are celebrated in these mansions in great pomp and show.

Day 15: Karaikadi - Tanjore

Leave for Tanjore in the morning and visit the famous Brihadisvara temple most noted for its exquisite architectural styles.

Day 16: Tanjore
On this day visit the Rock Fort of Trichy and the temple complex of Srirangam before finally retiring for the night.

Day 17: Tanjore - Pondicherry
Drive down to the wonderland Pondicherry that was once a French colony. Enroute visit the temple towns of Kumbakonam and Chidambaramto

Day 18: Pondicherry - Fisherman’s Cove
Visit the Aurobindo Ashram, one of the major tourist attractions in the city besides the ancient rock cut temples of Mahabalipuram. Stay overnight at Fisherman’s Cove.

Day 19: Fisherman’s Cove - Chennai

In the morning of the 19th day, drive down to Chennai but not before exploring the ancient temples and other heritage sites of Kanchipuram.

Arrive in Chennai by late afternoon. Get transferred to the airport in the evening and embark on the journey home.
