Package Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi
Arrive in Delhi, the capital of India that will welcome you to undertake a sojourn across the royal and religious destinations of the country. After breakfast, embark on sightseeing tours to the different attractions of the city. This will introduce you to the attractions of old and New Delhi –a combination of age-old wonders and modern marvels. Places that you could visit are: Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid, Humayun’s tomb, Qutab Minar, India Gate, and the Parliament House. Overnight stay is arranged for you in a Delhi hotel.

Day 2: Delhi – Jaipur
On the 2nd day of the tour, proceed towards Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. Your first stint with Indian royalty will begin from here. Noted for impressive forts and grand palaces, Jaipur is every travelers delight. En route you will stop over at the Amer Fort, located just about 15 km ahead of the Jaipur city when traveling from Delhi.

On arrival here, check into the pre-booked hotel and spend the rest of the day in leisure or take a stroll around the areas in the near vicinity of the hotel.

Day 3: Jaipur
Spend the entire day touring through the length and breadth of the Jaipur city to understand the history of this Rajputana city in detail. Monuments like the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), the Jantar Mantar (ancient observatory), and the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Museum will help you understand the legacies surrounding the royalty of this place. Day 4: Jaipur – Agra
From one royal city to the other. While Jaipur introduced you to Rajputana royalty, Agra on the other hand will present before you the royalty of the Mughals. Yes, primarily a city known for its Mughal heritage; Agra houses several monuments dating back to the era- the prime among them being the Taj Mahal. However, before you arrive in Agra, you will halt at Fatehpur Sikri. This was once the capital of Mughal Empire and still houses the forts, battlements and palaces of the era in their very origins. Built by Emperor Akbar, the beauty of Fatehpur Sikri is just a tiny illustration of what remains in store and is yet to be explored by you.

Day 5: Agra
A trip to Agra should invariably begin with a trip to the famous Taj Mahal. Early morning, gear up to visit this monument of love. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his loving wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is recognized as one of the 7 wonders of the world. The early morning light on the Taj, enhances its beauty furthermore. Explore the place in leisure and read through the various guidebooks (locally available) that offer handy information on the monument and its making. The graves of the emperor and the empress rest here in peace as if united after life, forever.

Day 6: Agra – Gwalior
On the 6th day you will travel by car from Agra to Gwalior. Built around the 8th century, Gwalior houses some of the most magnificent temples in India including the Teli ka Mandir, the Saas – Bahu Mandir, and the Surya Mandir. The architecture of these temples is to be seen to believe. Besides the temples, Gwalior also houses a number of medieval forts and palaces that are again masterpieces in their own might. The opulence of the members of the royal family who lived in these palaces can be directly gauged from the designing and magnitude of the forts. To believe what we say, visit the Man Mandir, Gujari Mahal, and the very impressive Gwalior fort.

Day 7: Gwalior – Orchha
The distance between Gwalior and Orchha can be covered in about 4 hours. Therefore, post an early morning breakfast, you can embark on your journey to this medieval land that is replete with history. Comfortably nestled on the banks of the Betwa River, Orchha was once a capital of the Bundela kings. The forts and palaces of the royal family are rich in ancient Indian architecture and mural art. A few of the most significant places that you could visit while here include the Jehangir Mahal, the Sheesh Mahal, and the Raj Mahal. Part of the Sheesh Mahal has been converted into a hotel and it is the only hotel to be located within the Orchha fort premises. Stay in this hotel for the night and experience how wonderful a palace, it must have been. The list of temples that are fondly visited destinations too; include the Chaturbhuj temple, the Lakshmi Narayan temple, and the Ram Raja temple.

Day 8: Orchha – Khajuraho
After visiting the medieval temples of Orchha, it is now time for you to visit another medieval wonder of Madhya Pradesh – Khajuraho. You will reach the town by evening and on arrival you can retire for the day in the comfort of your hotel rooms.

Day 9: Khajuraho
Khajuraho, one of the most bustling tourist destinations in the country was once a sleepy Indian village. The medieval temples that are housed here are the main source of attraction, luring tourists to come here and spend time marveling at the artistic brilliance of craftsmen of the tenth and eleventh century AD. Built by the Chandela kings, the Hindu and Jain temples of Khajuraho are especially known for their erotic carvings and figurines that adorn the walls of the temples. Spend a leisurely day exploring through these temples. Exhibiting the beauty and magnificence of Indian art, the Khajuraho temples are a must visit for all art, architecture, and history lovers.

Day 10: Khajuraho – Varanasi

On the tenth day of the royalty religion tour, you will move out of Khajuraho and into Varanasi. One of the holiest Indian cities, Varanasi is also one of the oldest living cities in the world. People of all faiths, other than the Hindus, come here to soak themselves in the magical powers that the city is blessed with. Temples, mosques, Buddhist and Jain shrines, the city of Varanasi, houses them all.

Day 11: Varanasi
An early morning boat journey across the Ganges will complete the tour, a full circle. Look around yourself to see devotees taking holy dips in the cool waters of the river and family members paying tribute to the souls of their departed ancestors.  Post this ride, you could make a short trip to Sarnath, another holy place especially for the Buddhists. This is the place where Buddha gave his first sermon and taught his 5 disciples. No wonder, the place is dotted with monasteries and stupas, dating back to the era. While here, you could also visit the Sarnath Museum for its authentic collection of ancient relics. 

Day 12: Varanasi – Delhi
The 12th day of the trip marks the end of the tour. Travel by air from Varanasi to Delhi and on reaching the latter, your transfer will be arranged till the airport from where you will embark on your journey back home.
