Oberoi MV Vrinda with Kumarakom

Day 1: Arrival
Arrive on board the Oberoi Motor Vessel Vrinda. The motor vessel sets sails cruising its way along the Lake Vembanad and arrives at Alleppey canal. You'll be served a sumptuous lunch on board. After a 4 hour trip and soaking in the breathtaking views of the surroundings, the vessel returns to Lake Vembanad.

In the evening, enjoy Kathakali dance performance. The performers wear herbal make up and depict scenes from Mahabharata and Ramayana.

The vessel drop anchors at the Lake jetty, Dinner and night stay is scheduled on board.

Day 2: On board Vrinda - Rice boat excursion
Today, early morning at 7, Vrinda sets out from Vembanad Lake jetty and cruises towards Alleppey. Savor a lip smacking breakfast.

The vessel hits the waterways of Pamba River through Alleppey canal. The cruise will take you to the spectacular backwaters. The vessel will anchor at Kanjippadam and you'll be transferred to rice boats to sail through the narrower waterways. A guide will provide authentic information on the lifestyle of this region.

You'll also get to visit the statute of Buddha at Karumadi and a traditional Kerala home. Afternoon, you'll be back to Oberoi Motor Vessel Vrinda and served a lip-smacking lunch.  The vessel steers its way through a network of waterways to Alleppey. It's no surprise Alleppey is referred to as 'Venice of the East'.

The Motor Vessel anchors at the Vembanad Lake jetty for the night halt. Dinner is served on board.

Day 3: On board motor vessel Vrinda - boat excursion
Early morning, the vessel sets sail from the Vembanad Lake jetty and cruises past Kanjippadam. After a wonderful cruise, the vessel arrives at Chambakulam and drops anchors here.

You'll be transferred to rice boats for a sightseeing trip. The excursion includes visit to St. Mary's Church established in 1721 by St. Thomas and a quaint Hindu temple Sri Bhagavathy Kshetram at Nedumuddy. Another tourist hotspot is Chambakulam snake boat yard that showcases traditional snake boats used in boat races.

Afternoon, you'll return to the vessel. Evening will be enlivened with classic dance 'Mohiniattam' or the 'Dance of the Enchantress.' You'll surely be impressed by the colorful costumes, emotive expressions and gestures of the performers. A zesty dinner is served on board. Stay overnight on board the Vrinda Vessel.

Day 4: Vrinda - Kumarakom
Today, you'll be disembarking from the Motor Vessel Vrinda. In the morning, the vessel will cruise towards the north on Vembanad Lake. Enjoy the farewell breakfast. On arriving Vembanad jetty at around ten in the morning, check out from the vessel. You'll be driven to Kumarakom. On arrival, check into a hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5: Kumarakom
Kumarakom is a small tourist town with a myriad of breathtaking islands on the Vembanad Lake. This day, explore and enjoy to the hilt this tropical paradise. The town is rich with tropical flora and fauna. Visit the neighboring islands and Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary.

Retire to your hotel after a day full of activities.

Day 6: Kumarakom - Kochi - Departure
Today's the last day of an amazing backwater experience. After a leisurely morning, you'll be driven to Kochi airport where you'll be boarding the flight back home.
