On the 2nd day of the trip, you will visit the Gateway of India and from there embark on an excursion to the Elephanta caves. You will also visit the Prince of Wales Museum and the Hanging Gardens to complete your trip in the city.

Day 3: Mumbai – Hyderabad
From Mumbai, travel into the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Hydearabad and your first destination in the Deccan tour. By the time you will reach this place, it will already be time for lunch and therefore embark on your sightseeing tour around the city post lunch. Visit its attractions like the Mecca Masjid, the Salar Jung Museum, and the Falaknuma Palace.

Day 4: Hyderabad – Gulbarga
Located at a distance of about 250 km, Gulbarga is known for the remarkable monuments housed in its midst. Founded by the Bahmani sultans, Gulbarga is best visited for the Jama Masjid, the Sharana Basaveshwara Temple, Sri Sai Baba temple, and Sri Ram Mandir. While traveling from Hyderabad to Gulbarga, you will also be taken to Bidar to visit the Bidar Fort and also the Bahmani tombs.

Day 5: Gulbarga – Bijapur
The drive from Gulbarga to Bijapur takes almost 4 hours. Therefore it is best advised that post-breakfast one should immediately start off the journey so as to reach the place well in time. This ancient city is divided into 3 areas or provinces namely the Cathak, Madash, and Bimanbut. Bijapur is known for its ancient monuments, mostly built around the time when Adil Shah ruled over it. Bijapur is also home to the grand Gol Gumbaz – the second-largest structure in the world to be supported without pillars.

Day 6: Bijapur – Badami
South India is replete with ancient rock cut temples and intricately designed figurines that adorn its interiors as well as the exteriors. One of the foremost names in this list is that of Badami. This place is famous for a number of landmarks that are housed in its midst. The foremost to name in this order are: Dattatreya temple, Bhutanatha temple, Banshankari temple, and the Badami Fort.

Day 7: Badami – Hospet

Once a capital of the Chalukyas, Badami is a fascinating place to visit and no tour to the Deccan region could be complete without visiting this place. Once you have thoroughly explored this place, you will move on towards Hospet, the next destination of the South India tours. En route, halt at Pattadakal to offer your heartfelt prayers in the temples located here. A fine example of the Chalukyan architectural patterns, the monuments of Pattadakal include the Virupaksha temple, the Sangameshvara temple, the Mallikarjuna temple, and the Kashivishvanatha temple.

Day 8: Hospet
Hospet facilitates the sightseeing of Hampi in a major way. Nestled comfortably amidst the ruins of Vijayanagara, Hampi is a sleepy town mostly visited by tourists and devotees for housing the ‘Virupaksha’ temple. The historical significance of the group of monuments in Hampi has earned it a world heritage site status. After exploring through the length and breadth of Hampi, you will return back to Hospet for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Hospet – Hassan
Post- breakfast leave Hospet for Hassan. The distance between the 2 places is almost 280 km and therefore will take you about 5 – 6 hours to reach there.  On arriving in Hassan check into the hotel and retire for the day.

Day 10: Hassan – Mysore
After early morning breakfast, visit Halebid and Belur, the twin towns located in the heart of the Hassan district. Once a capital of the Hoysala Empire, Belur exhibits great examples of Hoysala architecture – rock cut temples with intricate carvings in them. The foremost destination to visit here is the Chennakesava temple that is dedicated to lord Vishnu.

Located at a distance of about 16 km, Halebid also served as a capital to the Hoysala Empire. The Hoysaleswara temple, a world heritage site is the most popular attraction housed within this town.

Day 11: Mysore

On the eleventh day of the Deccan Tour, embark on sightseeing trips across the Mysore city. Noted for its festivals, its paintings and also its silks; Mysore is visited by tourists for the aforesaid and much more.
