Classic Taj Mahal Tour

Destinations Covered : Delhi - Agra - Jaipur - Alsisar - Delhi

Package Itinerary

Day 1 - Delhi
Arrive in Delhi and get transported to the hotel where you can unwind and refresh yourself before you embark on the classic tour. Overnight stay in the hotel where you gear up to visit one of the seven wonders of the world-Taj Mahal and also the princely towns of Jaipur and Alsisar.

Day 2 - Delhi - Agra
The second day of the tour is specifically reserved for exploring the city of Delhi, the national capital. It is almost mandatory for all tours concentrating in and around North India to begin from Delhi as it is a wonderful platform showcasing the sweet blend of modernity and traditions. Discover the charm of Old Delhi and the magnetism of New Delhi; all served on the same platter. The attractions that have been lined up for you include a trip to the Jama Masjid, India Gate, Parliament House, and Humayun Tomb. Post lunch depart for Agra and on arrival check into the hotel, pre booked for your convenience, and freshen yourself up. A sunset visit to the Taj Mahal (except on Friday when it remains closed) will introduce you to the ultimate monument dedicated to love. The colossal monument with impeccable designing and patterns is a grand example of the Mughal style of architecture. Drawing inspiration also from the Persian, Islamic and Indian architectural styles, the Taj Mahal has long been recognized as a world heritage site.

Day 3 - Agra
At dawn a visit to the Taj Mahal will complete the trip to the city of Agra. The Taj looks resplendent in the early morning sunlight and it almost transfers you to a different place, away from reality. Explore the beauty of the monument for the rest of the morning and post lunch head towards the other attractions of the city including the Agra Fort and the It-Mad-Ud- Daullah. Sikandra that houses the mausoleum of Emperor Akbar is also in line after these attractions and once you have visited these monuments, you can either rest in the hotel in the evening or explore the nearby markets and bazaars on your own.

Day 4 - Agra - Jaipur
Your trip to Agra comes to an end and on the fourth day you move out of this city and head towards Jaipur located at a distance of about 240 kms from here. Enroute the places that you will stop over for a quick visit are Fatehpur Sikri, Jama Masjid, Salim Chisti's tomb, and Panch Mahal. By evening you will arrive in Jaipur where you will check into the hotel and stay there overnight.

Day 5 - Jaipur
On the fifth day, explore in detail the various corners of the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur but not before a small excursion to the Amer Fort. A visit to the grand fort will be followed by a visit to the other architecturally significant places housed within the city including the Jal Mahal, the City Palace, and the Hawa Mahal-the Palace of the winds. In the evening you may visit the colourful markets of Jaipur to pick up souvenirs and handicraft items that are famous all over the world. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 6 - Jaipur - Alsisar
At about 4 hours drive is situated another princely region, the region of Shekhawati. This region is especially known for its frescoes and elaborately painted havelis (mansions). Mostly belonging to the rich merchants of the area, the mansions are a true depiction of the rich artistic taste of the natives of the area. Alsisar is also a popular stop over for guests travelling between Delhi, Jaipur and Bikaner as it is full of eateries and local markets selling an array of local handicraft items.

Day 7 - Alsisar - Delhi
Post breakfast, embark on the long journey back to Delhi for connecting flights and rails to travel back home. This brings the Classic Taj Mahal tour to an eventful closure.
